Elidune progress
- 95% of the protocol is migrated to gsoap.
- A cool session management and cookie authentication system.
- Optimizations and cleanups in the database code.
- For the client side, something very neat should appear...
- A new website is coming along : checkout the 'in progress' site.
New css
I've created a new css for Elidune website and reorganized things a bit.
I still have to polish things, but I'm happy with the first result
Elidune progress
- gsoap integration
- session management and signed cookies authentication
- since libpdel is still used for reading and writing xml files, I've kept it and integrated it into the project
- better database abstraction layer. It'll make the creation of database plugins easier
- ... (many new things I forgot)
gsoap for Elidune v0.6
The big big change for Elidune in v0.6 is that it'll use gsoap instead of the libpdel.
There is tons of advantages (that I am lazy to list here), but gsoap has many cool features and is actively maintained. I am exciting to start using it.
As Elidune is going to use soap, I'll try to keep the xml-rpc interface for compatibility (or not. That depend ...)
I've created a new branch in the cvs, I can start breaking everything now !
Elidune v0.5 is out
Yes, it's finally here !
For this release a demo server is available as well as the Elidune gtk client. Do not bother me if you feel that the source code is messy, actually I've spent 80% of the time working on the server side.
More details on Elidune website.
Update: Announced the project on freshmeat. I'm always suprised to see that it immediately brings so much new visitors on the website
Elidune
The name as been chosen. Calliop[é] is replaced with Elidune.
Does it sounds good ?
I've bought the corresponding domain names, waiting for the dns to be updated...
Update: www.elidune.org is up ! I'm on the way to rename the projects files ...
Calliop[é] or Carot[é] ?
The version 0.5 of Calliop[é] if finally done !
Now, before making it as a public release, I am searching for a new project name.
Yep, the name will change 'coz I found another library software called 'cassiopé', that another system is called 'calliope' and that no domain name is available for calliope
So, I am searching for a kind of anagram, something simple to remember and easy to write (not like hungmaow
. More news when I'll find.
By the way, for the 0.6 release of calliop[é]/carot[é]/whatever many cool things are planned. More details later, I've a name to find ...
Calliope : What’s new ?
- Redesigned the statistics window
- Reorganized a lot the database layer code in the server
- Lot of testing ad debugging on the migration from v0.4 to v0.5
- Maintenance script : did some python scripting to provide automatic maintenance utility (ie. data archiving)
- bug fixes... bug fixes ...
- cleanups... cleanups...
- Added some content on the website and reorganized the sections
- ...and a useful thing : a bugtracker is available
So, calliope 0.5 should be released next week, yeeeeepaaa !
XUL & Calliope
I've promised myself to provide very soon a web interface for calliope.
Since I'm not a great fan of all theses web interfaces I've decided to use XUL first (a plain and boring traditional web interface will come later). It seems to support perfectly XML-RPC and should bring out something really cool
calliope website
I've started to add some content on Calliope
I'm not very good at this exercice and that's why it takes me ages to get it done.
The translations will come after that all the french content is ready. I'd like to find some contributors for the english part, but since I didn't talk to anyone about it ...
