Recently, I've worked on designing and implementing websites for some family businesses.
The Gimp has been my friend for the last ten years and even if I'm a not a professional I must admit that I'm pretty happy with the results.
I've always liked to play with colors and shapes to create meaningful designs and "Please the eyes" and "Keep the those flashing graphics out" are my leitmotiv while creating a new design and here are the two latest examples.

The layout and colors were chosen to provide a very easy looking interface and to make the flower compositions looks great.

Restaurant, no name
At the moment this is a mockup only.
Not much to tell about it except that the design had to reflect the mood of a fusion cooking restaurant.
